The PBA's Skywalker

Are you a basketball fanatic? If you are, I bet you're dying to see action in the hardcourt. Well, I don't watch professional basketball in TV or live games anymore, but I used to be a basketball addict. I've been addicted to this sport because of a PBA superstar named Samboy Lim.

In the Philippines, the most popular sports program is the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association). I was 17 yrs. old when a Filipino-Chinese cager caught my attention. I was impressed when I saw his acrobatic shots in mid-air---really spine-tingling... After that experience, I became a Samboy Lim fan. He is the BEST aerial artist I've ever seen. There's something in his power dunks and acrobatic shots that makes him different from the other leapers. Beyond the fact that he's got the talent, he has a good heart. He has been a good role-model not only to his fans but to his co-players as well. Next to "The Living Legend" Robert Jaworski, Samboy is the most charismatic player in Philippine Basketball. He's the most valuable player the PBA has never been honored because he has missed a lot of contests, but the truth is... if there's one player who's worthy to be called "superstar", it's Samboy "The Skywalker" Lim. Too bad, we can't see him play anymore... But I'm sure that he still serves as an inspiration to aspiring basketball players.
